"State of Heartbreak"

June 2, 2019

After a five year hiatus, Joey Allcorn is back this summer with "State of Heartbreak." A five song EP that is something of a love letter to the West Coast / Bakersfield style of country music. Recorded, mixed and mastered over the course of five days in Nashville, Tennessee, Allcorn is planning to release two or three of these EP's on CD and streaming platforms a year with a vinyl release to follow each winter. "It's an effort to go back to how they used to record and get music out back in the '50's," Allcorn says. "Those guys would go in and cut four songs per session and had a steady stream of releases throughout the year. That model makes more sense these days because streaming is the primary way people listen to music now. So it doesn't make sense to release 10-12 song albums every 2-3 years anymore. It's all about staying current, just like it was back then. So going forward all my independent releases will be done in an EP format, two to three times a year."

Look for an official release date for "State of Heartbreak" in the coming weeks!
